The Location

Sydney's CBD and its closest inner suburbs sit at the centre of everything. Pyrmont is a 5-minute light rail ride to Town Hall. Surry Hills and Darlinghurst are 2 kilometres east of the city — walkable for most commutes. Central Station connects the whole precinct to the broader Sydney Trains network, and bus routes along Crown Street, Oxford Street, and Harris Street cover the gaps. For cyclists, dedicated lanes and flat terrain make this one of the most bikeable corridors in Sydney. Wherever you're based in this precinct, the CBD is never more than 15 minutes away on foot or by transit.

Community & Lifestyle

This precinct covers the most culturally active part of Sydney. Crown Street in Surry Hills is lined with cafés, restaurants, and bars that have defined Sydney's food scene for years. Oxford Street in Darlinghurst runs through the heart of Sydney's creative and LGBTQ+ community — galleries, independent cinemas, theatres, and some of the city's best nightlife. Pyrmont adds a quieter, waterfront residential feel, popular with finance and tech professionals working in the CBD and Ultimo corridor. Across all three suburbs the common thread is walkability — most tenants here don't need a car.

Green Spaces

Hyde Park is Sydney's most central green space — a 15-minute walk from Darlinghurst and Surry Hills, right on the edge of the CBD. The Royal Botanic Garden and The Domain sit just north, with harbour views throughout. Pirrama Park in Pyrmont runs along the western waterfront. For longer runs, Centennial Park is accessible from Darlinghurst via Oxford Street in around 20 minutes on foot.

To rent a room with Friendstay, you must complete the application process and pay the required security deposit. Your accommodation is only secured once the security deposit has been received.

Rent payments are due every Tuesday.

If you move into the property on a day other than Tuesday, your first invoice will be prorated based on your move-in date.

  • What is a prorated invoice?

A prorated invoice means your first rent payment is adjusted to cover only the number of days you stay before the next regular Tuesday payment cycle.

  • Is there a security deposit (bond)?

Yes. A security deposit (bond) is required to secure your accommodation.

  • When will my bond be refunded?

Your bond will be refunded within 21 days after your check-out date, provided all terms and conditions have been met.
